Spanish translation question?

I beleive Pero means But AND Dog, thats what I learned in Spanish class. ( Its most likely but what did she call you a dog lol)

1. the text it’s wrong (as you can see my bad english, that’s bad spanish)

it should be “se dice el pecado pero no el pecador” that means something like “You can say the sin, but not the sinner”
