Nail care recipes?

Asked by lexipoorocks (146points) March 16th, 2010

Do you have any recipes for nail growth, nail care, or any nail care at all please tell me. And please let this be home made because I really don’t want to go to the store and buy anything. Just things at home. Thanks so much.

A nail file is my best friend. I keep a slightly rounded shape and the edges smooth every day. No magic for me other than a good soak. My nails are very hard and quite long with minimal care.

You should always wash your hands alot a day and always apply moistourizer so your cuticles and everything doesn’t dry up. Soak your nail in salty water. then just paint them.

I don’t know if you will like my answer, but the best way to get your nails to grow is to keep them painted. Minimum two coats, three is better, it can be just clear. Remove and put on fresh every 4 to 5 days. Nails filed with a curve will be less likely to break than straight across, but most people seem to prefer straight across these days. Keep them polished and within two weeks you will have “nails.”

Note: Quick dry polish will not work. Drug store brands are fine, I recommend Loreal or Revlon. But, of course you can use polish you already have in your house any color.
