I have three weeks to loose 12lbs. What should I do to loose the weight?

Ok so my brother is going to Afghanistan in like may and my mom wants to get family pictures taken around then end of April. In getting pictures taken my mom wants us all to loose weight.
I need to loose about 12lbs. But I love junk food, and hate working out, but I do love swimming.
My question is how should I go about loosing the weight? I dont really want to do something drastically and be really sore, but I do need to do something to get the weight off. What do you suggest I try to loose weight?
Also any foods I should eat or any foods I should stay away from? Also any exercises I should do that I can do at a YMCA?

um…seriously… you’re brother is going to Afghanistan and she’s worried about your weight…. am I the only one who thinks that’s a little…odd?

You recognize your problem here.
If you legitimately do want to lose weight, there’s your answer. You can go 3 weeks without junk food. Honest. It won’t kill you.

I’m pretty sure 4 pounds per week is very unhealthy, though.

Fasting is not good. It ruins your metabolism. Eat healthy foods regularly throughout the day. It’ll keep your metabolism active.

High protein—- Eggs, Lean meat, fish, chicken, cottage cheese and lots of water 8 to 12 glasses ( 8 ounces each ) Vitamins and moderate exercise swimming is good. Do not skip on the water.

Creative make-up and clothing. . . if for the sole purpose of looking good for the pictures.

You love junk food, but hate working out. Losing weight requires work. Try hating junk food and loving exercise. That should do it. Sweat for a couple months… that should do the trick.

losing 12 lbs in 3 weeks is unhealthy and it will actually show in the pictures if indeed you were successful in pulling it off. People who suffer a heart attack and undergo cardiac surgery lose this much in about the same time by having restricted diet and IV during the recovery period. . . and frankly I wouldn’t want to be photographed looking like a sick person.

As my wise ol’ mom used to say… if you wanna lose 10 lbs of ugly fat quickly, cut off your head.

Really though- unhealthy. Why not make some healthy, small changes like adding in a little exercise and cutting out a little fat, so you can look at the pictures and feel proud of yourself instead of thinking how insane the diet was?

dont eat the junk food. and swim your butt off. Photos are about angles…...I’ve lost this much weight but i’m sick as a dog. just do the best you can and share these moments.

Drink no sodas, juice or tea. Only drink cranberry juice and water. Eat no simple carbs like white breads, pasta or potatoes. Instead eat minimal amounts of good carbs like whole grains and vegetables. Eat meats and salads with balsamic vinaigrette dressings. Again, drink a LOT of water. Also, GNC and other health or nutrition stores like that will carry cleanse pills. The cleanse pills will clean your system out, including leftover meat that has been sitting in your colon. Aside from that, do some pilates, swimming or some other sort of exercise that will kick your butt.

I would suggest walking with ankle weights because they help you burn more calories in the same amount of time. Weighlifting is also great for burning calories too. I would avoid simple carbs too as well as sugar and fried and fast food. Another thing you could consider is getting a conlonic not only do you loose weight you also get a good cleansing of the colon.

All I heard was “I need to lose 12 lbs, love junk food, and hate working out.” WOW!

It’s actually easy, and you don’t have to work out if you have three weeks.

For breakfast eat one egg and an english muffin. With water (no milk or juice)

For lunch have a massive salad, I’d say 85% leafy greens, but you can add good stuff to comprise the other 15%: avocado, oranges, apples, whatever makes the salad taste better to you. NO DRESSING. Again, nothing to drink but water

For dinner you can have a protein, a chicken breast or fish filet will be great, lightly fried or grilled would be best. And 2–3 ounces of carbs (pasta or rice).

You should go to bed a little hungry and wake up really hungry. I don’t know where we came up with this idea that we need to go to sleep full. You should be hungry when you go to sleep. If you can’t take it, drink a big azz cup of water before bed, it will artificially fill you up, but you will be able to fall asleep.

If you can do this for three weeks, you will lose the weight. I did this diet at 220 lbs. I never once felt sick or jittery, and it worked. So you can do it to! It just depends on how much you really want it.

@Tropical_Willie is right. Look at the Atkins diet. it will take off 12 pounds in three weeks.

eat all day but never stuff yourself. dont eat junk. drink a lot of water. go swimming. bingo!

Stay healthy. Give the junk food a miss, eat lots of leafy greens, drink at least 2 litres of water per day. You’ll be glowing healthily by picture time. Aiming for 12lbs in 3 weeks is setting yourself up for failure and as @njnyjobs already said, you’ll look sickly in the pics.

I wanted to try this quick weight loss thing for myself. So i figured out a way to lose 3 pounds in 15 seconds. I took off my shoes.

That’s the only form of healthy rapid weight loss. Losing 12 pounds in 3 weeks is not safe and has the potential to do you harm.

As others have said, cut out the junk food, exercise more, drink only water, green tea or black coffee if you need caffeine. Lean protein and a ton of veggies. This could get you safely to a 6-ish pound loss. It may also make you look thinner because you’ll get rid of some bloat. (If you have any.)

The, go buy some Spanx and tell your mom you lost 12 pounds.

And, because I’m really nosey, where the heck did she come up with 12 instead of 10 or 15? You don’t have to answer that, I’m just curious about her logic.

workout, run, workout, run. Drink water, wake up do sit ups and push ups. Eat non greasy foods, salads, baked chicken, fruits and veggies.

I did dance aerobics five days a week for four weeks. It sounds dorky, but it was really fun and I lost 5 kilos. I ate salad and oily fish for lunch and cut back on snacks.

Eat only fruit, vegetables, whole grain bread and lean meat or other protein, walk at least one mile every day – more is better, drink 6 to 8 glasses of water, and NO SODAS, get as much sleep as you need.

I heard the during “lady time”, your body’s metabolism speeds up and drinking more water will help. Make smaller meals with better choices. Exercise and keep a food journal.

I have two suggestions. The first is guaranteed to work. Only two steps. Start with a dozen warm Krispy Kreme donuts. Eat all 12 at one sitting. Then…..eat nothing else until you reach your weight goal.

You love junk food? You hate to work out? Do you like to die? Would you enjoy being morbidly fat with all the debilitating disease that goes with it? You only have to gain one pound a year to turn into a morbidly fat person at some point. How about gaining only ¼ of a pound per month? That would pack an additional 3 pounds per year onto your frame. Let’s see. Multiply by 10. That makes you 30 pounds heavier in only 10 years. 30 pounds you will never ever lose because you will be so used to packing it on.

Here’s a secret. Life is all about eating wisely and exercising. Eat NO junk food whatsoever. Just walk 20 minutes per day and you will see results. Oh…and when you are at the grocery store, check the label on everything you buy. Buy only those products that have 6grams of sugar or less. That will dramatically reduce your junk food cravings. Eat NO sugar otherwise.

BUT….if your mother wants you to lose weight, tell her to stick it. If you do it, do it for yourself, not for her. But wait til after the pics are taken to start.

Sheeesh….your mom is unbelievable. I don’t blame you for loving junk food.

Cut your fats down to about 15% of your daily intake. Eat fruits and veg. daily. Drink plenty of water and work out. You say you like to swim. Doing laps in a pool can kill calories like crazy and but it can bulk you up so don’t over do. Join a aerobics class. It can help you burn the calories without bulking you up and still target areas of concern. Muscles weigh more so you may not loose the 12 lbs right away as you replace the fat with muscles but you will look leaner. Be sure to stretch before and after so you not sore and it will also help stretch the muscle and keep your muscles to be leaner.

@tedibear39 Her mother’s logic is that she is a control freak who would prefer to harm her daughter by quick weight loss to sooth her own vanity.

Spanx are a good idea to fool the mother. But please tell her never to wear them around a man. They make a woman feel like a stuffed sausage.

The way I lost weight fast was just simply checking if I was hungry enough to eat a meal or if I was just bored. Also exercise is an important factor in any kind of weight loss, a walk or jog a day with a music source worked well for me. Lastly, if your a big soda fan, try switch to some of the more lower calorie sodas or diet sodas. Hope this helps!
