Ladies: What is the sexiest cologne for a guy?

Asked by delta77 (196points) May 1st, 2010

I am looking to buy a new cologne and want suggestions on what the ladies out there might like on a guy, whether their significant other or any guy in general.

I personally, don’t care for men wearing cologne. I like a guy to smell like a guy, or like soap. That works for me too.

My favorite is “just got in from doing yardwork,” followed by “was near a bonfire.” ;)

But if you must wear something from a bottle, I have a guilty confession. I’m old school. Old Spice, I’m embarrassed to say, does quite well by me. Must be some sort of grandpa fixation or something. That or bay rum.

I like the natural high of a freshly showered and slightly aged man. lol

Aging as in enough time after the shower for the bodies natural scent to grab on again, but not so long that fermentation sets in.

I like my men like I like my beer….rich, dark and frothy! hahaha

I’m not a girl, but my Ralph Lauren Polo Double Black drives my girlfriend and her female family members wild. Christmas consisted of everybody smelling me multiple times.

I fall in the category of preferring no cologne per se. The fresh shower is great. And the Alba mango shaving cream is wonderful on my husband.

I have a really refined sense of smell (from my profession) and sort of prefer more natural smells. That said, I have smelled Old Spice that was just great on some guys. Really caught my attention. And an old one call Ziziani that was killer on my brother.
I have a female friend who smells great in 7711 (or is it 1177?). Anyway it suits her and she smells great when wearing it.

But the reality is all smells, perfumes react with the body chemistry of the wearer and it is the combination that makes it “work”. So if you find one that your family or girlfriend really like, that is the one to stick with.

Original scent Gain Laundry detergent

My husband washed his clothes in this when I first met him, and quite literally, when he smells like this, it drives me out of my mind.

The best by far, and coincidentally most expensive are:

Angel for men
Issey Miyake

They adapt to the body chemistry of the man who is wearing them… and watch out! Yummy~

i am really not a fan of colognes. well that was until i met my current other half who sometimes will spritz on some lacoste cologne when he wants my clothes to come off and they always do. so…lacoste. its magical. there is more than one kind though and i dont know which it is.
