Does anyone know a good book that introduces architecture?

Asked by whothei0 (223points) May 12th, 2010

i am interested in the field of architecture but dont know much more than the average Joe. so i would like a book that describe the different forms (from architectural design to the actual jobs like the building inspector that says that a place is still safe to go into after it was hit by a tornado). just curious if there is a book or books out there that explain architecture.

I’m no expert but I enjoyed and learned a bit from 101 Things I Learned in Architecture School.

My husband has a few architecture books from when he studied it a bit. Here are the books he has:
A Visual Dictionary of Architecture
The Four Books on Architecture
Architecture: From Prehistory to Postmodernity
Hope these help some.
