Have you ever been a contestant on a game show?

Time for a light hearted topic…
I love game shows, my two favorites are Match Game (the 74’ episodes especially) & Let’s Make A Deal (Monty Hall version of course). Today, with the GSN & pre/primetime game shows on network tv, there are LOTS of game shows on every day, which means there needs to be new contestants each time. There must be millions of people by now who have been on a game show…. I want to know, have any Flutherites been a contestant on a game show?! I would love to hear about your experience. What show were you on? Did you win anything? Anything you want to share, I’d love to hear it. An immediate good answer goes to the anyone who was on Match Game & won as a result of matching Richard’s answer. ;) I really do love Match game. A lot.

I remember watching Match Game after school every day. That was a good one! I’ve been told that I should be on a game show, but I get stage fright. My mother tried out for Jeopardy but didn’t make it.

I tried out for Jeopardy on a dare in the late 70s. I guess I wasn’t “photogenic” enough since I knew the answers to ~95% of the questions, but never heard back from them. It’s just as well, as I would have been terrified on camera. Answering the questions in a bar room and on a TV stage are entirely different things.

No, but I know 2 people who have.
A neighbor, when I was growing up, was on Name That Tune. She won the show, which was a big deal then. It didn’t improve my opinion of her.
A friend was on Family Feud. She said the producers were looking for excitable people, not good game players. Fortunately, she knew this, and played quite excited.
One of these, and I don’t remember which one, told me the host was making insanely dirty jokes during the commercial breaks, to keep everyone relaxed and laughing.
