Can the moderator read your comments that are marked private in "comments to you "area?

Tried to find the answer in the search box, but did not find it.

Anyone know?

There are only two people (it’s two or one, can’t recall) who can and they only do it if someone has asked the mods to stop harassment/abuse and the like.

So if you need help- it’s there if you PM a mod. If you’re worried about your privacy- it’s respected unless you’re back there calling people names and threatening to poke their pets with sharp objects. ;)

I’m Richard, one of the staff here.

The only people that have access to that information are the staff (myself, @andrew, @ben and @timtrueman) and the community manager (@augustlan) – the moderation team don’t have access.

We’ll only access the private comments you’ve sent and received if there are complaints about abuse or attacks, and it’s necessary to resolve the situation.

If something is extremely confidential, you should send it through a trusted email provider instead.
