How do I stop iTunes from pausing my podcast subscriptions?

Asked by bluemukaki (4332points) May 31st, 2010

iTunes is very keen to stop downloading podcasts if “haven’t listened to them in a while”, which is frustrating because I have been listening to them – just that the playcount isn’t synced with iTunes because I’m using doubleTwist and an Android phone.

Does anyone know of a option, app or way around this, so that iTunes will continue to download podcasts as they become available, regardless of my detected listening habits?

iTunes settings would seem to address this, but I have the same problem.

Here are my default settings:
Check for new episodes: Every day
When new episodes are available: Download all
Episodes to keep: Last 5 episodes

All my subscriptions use the default settings.
This is iTunes for Windows (Vista, Win7, XP, 32-bit, 64-bit, I think they have all had this annoyance).

Sorry I can’t solve it, I just wanted to add another data point. Hopefully someone with a solution will chime in.
