Need to know how to forward received text messages to my own email account?

in other words, I’d like to forward some text messages including the date, time, and sender information of those text messages to my email account.

i have a 3 yr old palm treo from sprint, which I hope to upgrade this summer to either the htc evo, or similar. Which is the reason i need to save some of my text messages because i fear they will be erased through the upgrade process.
