How do i tighten up loose skin after weight loss?

Asked by killerkadoogen (426points) July 21st, 2010

In january I weighed 190 lbs. By march I was 170s. Then by may I was 150s. It is now july and I remain the same. I have alot of loose skin on my biceps and stomach. Is there a way to help tighten it up or do I just have to wait awhile? I thought maybe there was a natural supplement that would improve my skin elasticity? I do lots of crunches and have a 6 pack but it is not visible…

If your skin hasn’t conformed to your body on its own, the only other option with suitable results would be cosmetic surgery if it’s that bad. I haven’t seen you, so I don’t know. Hydration, age, and genetics all play a role in how our skin reacts to change. Keep yourself moisturized with a natural lotion or cream (a lotion containing collagen should be especially effective since collagen is what keeps our skin taut) and stimulate your skin by massaging it often. Good luck!

Congrats on the weight loss. That takes dedication. Before you do anything rash like cosmetic surgery give the skin a little more time. It took years to stretch it out. Give it at least 6 months to go back.

Wait until the dead of winter before considering options.

My tummy tuck was awesome! Recovery was hard but I would do it again in a second. I had 3 children and lost 80 lbs. My skin was never going to shrink back no matter how hard I exercised.
