What are some great indie songs?

Asked by Evelyn_475 (792points) August 25th, 2010

I am looking for songs that would fit into the same category as these songs/ artists:

William Fitzsimmons- “So This is Goodbye”
Broken Bells- “The High Road”
Carolina Chocolate Drops- “Snowden’s Jig”
ALL BONOBO MUSIC!
Coco Rosie- “By Your Side”
Jack Johnson
Elliott Smith
Iron & Wine- “Boy With A Coin”
John Mayer
Massive Attack- “Teardrop”
Minus The Bear- “Pachuca Sunrise”
Mozella- “Killing Time”
Nikka Costa- “Push & Pull”

Stuff that would be relatable to the above songs/ artists would be awesome.

Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap
Vagabond by Wolfmother

Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley, Ingrid Michaelson, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, and Death Cab for Cutie are all great indie bands/artists. Indie was all I listened to in high school, PM me if you want more suggestions/details.

What Happens When the Heart Just Stops by The Frames. Everything off For the Birds is brilliant. One of my favourite albums.

I’m Your Puppet by Gregory and the Hawk.

Balloons by Julia Nunes.

@le_inferno My friends tease me for loving Bright Eyes, but I love them to pieces anyway :)

I’m not going to teach your boyfriend how to dance with you by The Black Kids
Huddle Formation by The Go! Team

Also, look for the band Moth!Fight! if you can find them. They don’t exist anymore, and they have no non-live recordings on youtube, but you may be able to find them on torrent or itunes or limewire or something… it’s worth it if you can find any of their songs, but keep an eye out for “Hopscotch” or “Hopscotch Pt II”.
