Does using an electric shaver drastically reduce the chance of having razor bumps on one's face?

Yes, this is why I use one now. I tried a regular razor, a razor with the sensitive skin shaving cream, the special bump preventer razors, and that cream you put on and wipe off like nair. Although none have worked better than an electric razor; sometimes I wish I could have a clean shaven face, but I just can’t although not getting the huge bumps is worth it. I occasionally get a few small ones but I just have to pick out the hair so it doesn’t grow into my skin more.

I also highly recommend St. Ives apricot scrub. One of the reasons we get these bumps is because our skin needs to be cleaner and clear of the dead skin, so exfoliating helps with that.

My ex-husband had a hell of a time with those bumps with a traditional razor. When he switched to an electric one, there was a huge improvement.

Yes. And you can also set the depth of cut on good quality razors to further insure that the hair won’t become an ingrown hair.
