If you throw boiling water on someone who is on fire, will it burn them?

Asked by poisonedantidote (21675points) October 19th, 2010

So, someone is on fire running around in circles and screaming. you take a big pot of boiling water and throw it on them. If the fire where hotter than the water, would throwing the boiling water on them add to the damage or simply stop the fire?

Yes. It will make the burn worse.

It would stop the fire but burn them for a measurable period after the fire was gone.

It will put the fire out but it will scald them and injure them more.

Add to the damage, but it should put the fire out.

stop, drop, and roll. forget the boiling water. Is this one of those “Halloween witch cauldron sessions gone bad” scenarios?

@poisonedantidote are you practising tyrannical methods? Yes, I guess it would make that burning hell worse!

They’d most likely bubble & maybe whistle from each orifice.
