Why is farting and fart jokes so funny?

I don’t know about the smelling or seeing (said the medical professional…), but the sound cracks me up. Squeeze one of those cheap ketchup or mustard bottles just right, and you can get an amazing range of unfortunate, biological-sounding noises… just about drops me on the floor from laughing!

It’s funny describing them and all the ways to do it it. Like when you fart and say there is barking spiders in here or someone stepped on a frog or are you tuning a trumpet? Farting in a crowded elevator is funny because it makes everyone uncomfortable. Accidental gates that are loud are funny because the person is usually embarrassed and everyone gives them shit. Sometimes when I fart out loud I will say ” Some asshole is talking shit behind my back!” That makes some people laugh.
