I need the title to an old movie about a farmer who is lazy and will not raise any crops.

I don’t remember much about the movie except there is a scene where the farmer is asked… “Why don’t you grow anything?” I will someday” he would say. However he mostly sits in the shade and sleeps. One more scene I remember is a daughter runs away from her husband and her sister asked her mother if she could go be her brother-in-laws wife.
