I prefer phasers and photon torpedoes to overcome my obstacles…

It keeps you going in the face of the problems and obstacles. It gives you confidence to know that things will turn around.

I don’t think it helps overcome them so much as endure them in the knowledge that they are not going to last.

It empowers me to keep going no matter what hell I might find myself in!!

Optimism has given me the heave-ho to get out of rotten situations and has given me the resiliency to never give up. I’m definitely a cock-eyed optimist in many ways. It has, however, also trapped me in really bad relationships because I was optimistic that things would eventually get better, when they never did. Too much of a good thing can be bad…

Optimism can give me confidence or make me blind… the trick is to know when’s when.

Optimism helps you be constructive when you are beaten down.

I was known as “Pollyanna” when I was in college- I always had an optimistic attitude. It made me happier, I got sick less often, and I had more friends. I’m getting that attitude back now, thank God! I think it helped me be happier and be a better friend to other people, and getting it back is all good.
