Has the word "word" gone out of current slang? I never hear it any more.

Six months ago, I would often hear the word “word” said, when someone was really meaning “I agree” or “ditto” or “I’m with you!”.

But I was just thinking that I hadn’t heard “word” in months and months.

Is it one of those quickie expressions that is faddish for a little while and then disappears?

Or am I just not getting the word?
