I am determined to get a friend interested in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Which episode should I show her if I only get one chance?

I can’t decide which one will hook her, and I think her life is a desolate void for not having enjoyed it until now.

What other shows does she like? What kind of taste does she have?

She is into murder shows. Dateline, whatever.

I think I would go with either “Hush” or “Restless”, because they’re both very strong visually (and funny)... and you don’t need much of the backstory to be able to enjoy them. They stand alone pretty well.

We must save this woman! She might otherwise be doomed to a lifetime of abbreviation-based spin-off television.

I have forgotten Restless. I better re-watch right now.

Indeed! I do regret that neither of my first choices involves Faith, though… you might want to consider something like “Bad Girls” as well.

If you get her drunk enough, then it won’t matter. Be a gentleman! Just get her drunk.

OMG Glacial Restless is amazing. I forgot how good it is.

I know, right?

If she likes musicals, definitely show her Once More With Feeling.

I also think the last 2 shows of season 2 are great—Becoming part 1&2. It shows the dark side of Buffy. For light hearted Buffy how about Buffy v. Dracula or Life Serial.

Don’t do it. One of my relatives keeps pushing Dr. Who on me. I have zero interest in sci-fi outside of Star Trek, but she keeps telling me how great it is, with descriptions of why it’s so great, and it just isn’t my thing. She wants to discuss the show with me, but I don’t think I’ll ever watch it.
