Has Fluther's search quick-look flydown quit working for you too?

Asked by ETpro (34605points) September 5th, 2013

I used to be able to enter the text for a question in the search input and get a nearly instant flydown of similar questions, plus the ability to run a full search if needed. Any of the items in the flydown were clickable, making it a very useful tool for checking whether a question had already been asked before bothering to write the question details, or worse post it only to have it removed as a duplicate.

Perhaps a month ago, that flydown feature seems to have stopped working for me. For instance, searching for this question returned a page with no search results. Unless only a couple of words or a user name are entered as the search term, conducting a full search usually returns no results other than advertising.

I’m all for us making some money displaying ads, but I’m thinking more people would actually use the search tool and end up clicking one of those ads occasionally if the search tool actually worked.

Is nonworking search a new, undocumented “feature” you’re all seeing, or have all my browsers suddenly developed the same odd behavior confined only to Fluther? If it’s busted, any chance it might someday get fixed, particularly seeing that fixing it might actually increase revenue?
