What do you guys think of Facebook or maybe social medias in general? Does it ruin relations?
E.g: The famous “seen” or “active…ago, without a reply”

I think that like most things it has both good and bad aspects. Good: it allows me to keep up with what’s going in relative’s and friend’s lives who live far away.

Bad: it has the Facebook equivalent of chain letters (which I never continue).

Facebook has no moral value in and of itself.
One can use use Facebook in positive ways, one can use Facebook in negative ways. Each user, each time they log on, makes the moral decision how to be on Facebook, whether good or bad.

Facebook for me is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family. I also have a Facebook page for my business that I need to use more but is a great way to keep customers and followers updated on product developments and projects that are done with my products. My wife also uses FB to promote her business and keep her students updated on classes and workshops. There are also group pages I follow that are handy for updates on what’s happening. A community art group, a local theater group, a gardening club and music appreciation group where we introduce musical gems we find are some examples.

I have found these uses of Facebook to be positive experiences.

It’s a great way to keep in touch with people and see their pictures.

It’s annoying as fuck to constantly see attention-whoring “please tell me I’m hot” selfies (and I’m talking about more than five selfies a day from the same person, every damn day) and all the dumb posts like, “Like and share this if you love Jesus.” I’m actually a theist but those stupid guilt trip posts just piss me off. I like to post stuff in return like, “Like and share if you love your grandma, ignore this if you want your grandma to die.”

I try very hard to ignore things and remember, “Not my circus, not my monkeys,” but some days it’s incredibly damned difficult.

Why does it have to be one of them?

Terrible. But not more terrible than lots of other things. It really depends on you.

I don’t give a rat’s ass what you had for dinner.. and why did you post it? Who cares? But other people do.. so it’s incredibly subjective.
