A recent Q about Christmas cards has me thinking about postcards. I was wondering if they have fallen out of favor like many traditional forms of mail.
I love postcards. I don’t only send them when I travel. When I lived in Memphis I came across Elvis postcards that I thought were just wonderful. I sent one to my mom and her sister, they loved Elvis back in the day. When I visit an interesting museum I’ll send friends or family a postcard if it’s a museum I think they would enjoy too.
I don’t send them very regularly, but I probably send out about 10–15 a year. I wish I sent more, but I’m a little lazy about it.
I don’t get postcards from any friends; not in a very long time anyway. I guess people don’t send them as often anymore. My parents send a postcard to me when they travel.
