Would Almond or Cashew milk be a better choice or just as bad as regular milk? (See details)

All the standard instructions for recovering from severe diahrrea and vomiting state to avoid milk and dairy products.
But since nut milks don’t really contain any dairy, could they be used instead of milk without ill effect?
The main reason I ask is because after more than a week of drinking Gatorade, diluted tomato juice, Ginger Ale and lemon lime soda, my mouth and system is fed up with being so acidic and I’m intensely craving milk but afraid to risk it.
Plus, when things are normal, I drink milk frequently and crave it when I run out.
