Why do my hands/palms smell like metal? (read the details)

I wash my hands all the time, but they still smell like metal. It’s like sniffing a pipe or something similar.
This doesn’t happen all the time, but it happens enough times to notice it.
For the record, I don’t work with metal in any way.
Does anyone have an idea why would this happen?
