Suppose you’re one of the decision makers at a law firm.
A candidate comes to you looking for a job as an attorney. The person’s previous boss was William Barr, the US Attorney General. In that person’s previous job, the candidate’s role was to represent the government and defend President Trump from having to testify and hand over subpoenaed documents.
The person’s credentials look good – good law school grades, Law Review editor, and so on.
Do you hire the person? Should working for the USDOJ defending Trump work for or against the candidate?
