How many Covid19 tests have you had?

Asked by mazingerz88 (28820points) August 8th, 2020 from iPhone

I got a free one from CVS almost a month ago with no results yet and another recent one given directly by the State and the result is supposed to come out in 5 days. Thanks.

One, free from the government, result back in 48 hours, swab from the nose and from the throat, negative result.

I have had five. One from the county, free, drive through, on May 5. Others from local urgent care clinic.

The first one was positive, the other four were all negative.

I have been undergoing some medical procedures, and they require testing before each procedure.

None.

No antibodies test, either. I asked the doctor about the antibodies test and he said it’s only 50% accurate so why bother.

Caravanfan's avatar

I’ve had 4.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

Zero for me; B-I-L has had two because of surgeries.

Demosthenes's avatar

None so far. I’ll get one if I have symptoms, but otherwise no.

Jeruba's avatar

None. And I’m not in a hurry to. I have no symptoms. And I don’t know anyone who does.

As I’ve observed in the past, though, it’s not the disease or disorder that changes your life. It’s the knowledge of it.

Of course that’s not strictly true—but you can sustain denial right up until you get the test results (diabetes, cancer, heart disease, whatever), and then you have to do something, or let something be done, or accept that there’s nothing to do. That’s when your options narrow down. That’s when something invades your mind that wasn’t there before, and now you’ll never get rid of it.

None. So far, I’ve had no symptoms.

0 Not one. Do not intend to be tested.

I’ll have to have tests before my cataract surgery in September.

Where the hell did you get that number^^^?? The question was how many tests have YOU had not your country or the planet.

Yellowdog's avatar

That’s how many I have had. I get tested 481,992,984,616 times daily.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

Care to explain it??
Being a Den/lib I am a touch slow so show me how you have had so many tests.
And how the tests are done.

janbb's avatar

@SQUEEKY2 YD is making a joke.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

Strange joke!
But then Rep/cons are strange, sacrifice Grandma just protect the wealthy and the corporations.

Yellowdog's avatar

Yeah, Grandma died the first day she got her 481,992,984,616 tests.

But the wealthy and the corporations live on…

Aster's avatar

Two but they were simply a forehead temp check, negative.

chyna's avatar

@Aster that is not a Covid test. That is simply a temperature check. A Covid test consists of sticking a q-tip up your nose and taking a swab.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

@chyna pictures I’ve seen it three times as long a as Q-tip and they put it to the back and inside of your sinus.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

Sounds horribly uncomfortable.

chyna's avatar

@tropical_willie Yes it is an extended length q-tip that almost goes up into your brain. :-)

Dutchess_lll's avatar

ARRRGHHHHH!!!!

Caravanfan's avatar

It’s not that bad. 20 seconds of discomfort

zenvelo's avatar

^^^^It’s a long 20 seconds. I thought they were going to pop my eyeball.

And afterwards your nose feels like it did in the 1980’s when all you could get was really bad cocaine.

janbb's avatar

@Caravanfan How accurate is the saliva test compared to the nasal swab?

mazingerz88's avatar

Well…I had two tests done but no results. Been more than a month! No idea who to blame. Maybe our Governor.

Aster's avatar

Yes; I’ve heard the so called “Q tip” goes right in the center between your ear and your nose. I think they’re going to discontinue that horrendous test.

Caravanfan's avatar

@janbb Not as accurate so I’ve heard.
@mazingerz88 Not your governor, but talk to your local public health department.
@Aster It’s honestly not that bad.
