Can the truth ever be known in a criminal trial?

If the evidence is sufficiently compelling, there is not much a lawyer can do to counter it.

Yes. Otherwise, there would be no such things as trials.
What I don’t like is that the person who can pay for the best lawyer usually gets the best “justice.” And that is wrong!
