Do female beach volleyball players always constantly touch each other?

I watched Switzerland play (I think it was Switzerland) and they constantly high fived, hugged, and hit each other’s asses. What is going on? Is that commonplace among all of the teams? I would not even do that with my husband. I don’t care what they do, have at it, I just find it odd. They were super sweaty too, but even if they had been cool and dry I would find it odd.
