What if I told you that Adam and Eve were Aliens and the whole story was introduced by Aliens?

Asked by AhYem (348points) January 3rd, 2023

Could you figure out why that may be so?

In my opinion it IS true, but since you’re not me, you can have other interpretations of it, which I’d never try to refute, because they’re part of your legal right to believe anything you want to believe.

My question is, can you figure out the reason why I claim that Adam and Eve were Aliens and the whole story about them was fabricated by Aliens?

I’m not talking of reasons like “I’m day-dreaming” or “fantasizing” or just joking around. I’m rather thinking of a reason that can be real after all. From my own perspective it IS real, but from your perspective it only can be real, be it only theoretically or hypothetically.

Just a little hint:

If you and your spouse were the first (long-living) couple to arrive in a new world, what would you say to your children when 100 years later they ask you the question: “Mom/Dad, where are our grand parents? All other children younger than us have two pairs of them, only we don’t, how come that???”

Sure you can start telling them about your own world that you had to abandon because it was nearing its end due to the nuclear/chemical/biological pollution and all those viruses there and the zombies that made life impossible, as well as how you left in a spaceship that flew through the hyperspace faster than the speed of light, but you still had to spend several years in a cryogenic sleep and when your spaceship came close to this world, your computer and your robots made you awake, after which you had to spend several weeks bringing your muscles back from atrophy to normal and…

You know what, you wouldn’t be able to tell them all that, because they would interrupt you very soon asking you: “What’s nulcear/chimacle/bilological???”

Wouldn’t it be better for you to just tell them a story about a stork or a god?

I would say somebody was smoking some really good weed…

You can tell the difference between a good weed and a bad one, @kritiper? I’m curious, what’s a really good weed? I have to ask, because I don’t have a clue about it. All I know about weeds is that they are not supposed to be among my plants, so I always have to pull them out of there. And what do you mean by “smoking” them??? How – and why – could or should weeds be smoked??? I thought they were not enjoyable…

Adam and Eve, like so much of The Bible, is a Christian version of older (mostly allegorical, not literally true) stories invented by other earlier people. So the idea of “them” being space aliens, seems particularly silly to me, on many levels.

Well, it would certainly be more plausible than the ridiculous dirt and rib origin story.

You would have a high hurdle of evidence to crest to get me to believe such nonsense. I’m an atheist who doesn’t believe the Adam and Eve story. I’m also skeptical that aliens have ever visited Earth. I definitely believe in life on other planets, but the universe is really, really, really big. Our radio signals haven’t reached our NEAREST neighbor star yet. There’s no reason why they would come here, and because of the distances and number of stars and worlds.

The ‘evidence’ for alien visitation to date are mostly easily explainable bullshit. Admittedly, the military has put out some harder to explain bullshit recently, but it DID have more rational explanations. It just took longer.

Your particular rationale is not compelling.

No more ridiculous than the “official” story.

I would buy the screenplay and make it into a movie.

@Forever_Free, I have several ideas that could be reshaped as long as it takes for them to turn into movies :D

The story of Adam and Eve is inconsistent with reality.
Who made up the story is irrelevant.
People are interesting to me as they so easily and absolutely believe in such preposterous stories written by unknown people (HA or space aliens) thousands of years ago. Fascinating.

Is this related to your claim that we have a huge number of ancestors?
Otherwise you need to come up with scientifically testable evidence. Once you do that you will no doubt be receiving a Nobel prize for your research.

@LostInParadise, it most definitely is.

I would say you might be one of my high school English teachers who preferred to talk about this sort of thing over whatever was on the syllabus.
