Why do religious christians eat fruit?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33177points) October 2nd, 2023

In Genesis 3:3, Eve is purported to have offered Adam a fruit (possibly apple, fig, or grape) although it was forbidden by God because it was from the tree of knowledge.

That, according to the verse, was sin (disobeying god) and god punished them, and all of a sudden there was a difference between good and evil.

That said, eating fruit was the proximate cause of sin, leading to all sorts of negative consequences.

Why, then, do religious people eat fruit, knowing its historical role in creating evil in the world?
