What's the best thing to have delivered to a holiday office party?

Asked by beachwriter (361points) December 1st, 2009

Small office of 16. I need to send something to a party I will not be attending. Something fun, different, memorable. Budget is maybe $150–300. They will already be well fixed for food and drink, so I was trying to come up with something else. Haven’t ruled out a charity gift in their name, either. Ideas welcome!

Get someone (or a group) to come sing a few holiday songs. I know college a cappella groups will often be willing to do little events like that.

And the college a cappella groups would probably not charge [much] so you can buy lots of food!

Puppies with little santa suits! That will make everyone happy.
Ooh ooh ooh! Carolers! Maybe if someone in the office has a kid in gradeschool, they can get their class to come over and sing carols.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Every office needs Jello

Have a bunch of actors reenact the famous printer beating scene from Office Space.

A clown? Someone who can do balloon art? A gift basket or several? A Santa who will hand out small gifts? A mariachi band? Carolers? A belly dancer? A live reindeer? More booze? A group of singing dwarfs little people? A pinata with gifts in it instead or in addition to candy?

Or like this guy, whose office party ended up with a bunch of Polish dancers (who dance on top of the tables).

A strolling guitarist? A magician? Caricaturist?

@Foolaholic Lurve, lurve, lurve!

Like you mentioned, a charity gift in their name would be great.

You could deliver a beautiful piece of art for the office. Or something even better, since there are only 16 people in the office it could be little bags of something relaxing or obnoxious to lift their spirits.

Samuel Adams, always a good decision.

If you want to give to a charity, may I humbly suggest The Heifer Project? It’s a non-political organization that donates livestock and agricultural training to people in impovershed villages around the world.

@janbb Lurve! Our church raised enough for an ark last Christmas.

I like the idea of a piece of office art or maybe an espresso/cappuccino/chocolate machine.

Okay I didn’t see the espresso/chocolate machine but loving that! :)
