I once saw a restaurant advertising it but I have no idea what kind of food they would serve.

Mongolian Barbecue has nothing to do with Barbecue.
@holden…then why do they call it Mongolian?

Anyway, essentially you’re given a bowl. You fill this bowl with various meats, vegetables, and other stir-fry-esq items. Then you mound your bowl to the point of toppling over with noodles. Lastly you drench this concoction in sauces and give it to the chef/cook. He/She dumps your bowl onto a large spinning fry-plate. Mixes it, whilst adding water to re-hydrate the noodles which are somewhat dry.
When it’s all said and done you get a delicious bowl of noodles and meats/veggies doused in sauce.

The mongolian BBQ restaurant that I went to was in Reno and I think it was called Panda but not sure. They had a smorgasbord type of setup where you’d grab a plate and ask them to put whatever ingredients you want on the plate in heaping helpings. The items included bean sprouts, etc for the vegatable portion. Then you’d choose what kind of meats you wanted, chicken, beef, pork. Then you’d choose the sauce that you wanted to have them cook it in/with, hot sauce, hoisin sauce, etc. You then give this heaping plate for of stuff to the cook and he would dump it all on a big hot surface, similar to a wok and stir fry all the ingredients while you stand there and watch. It didn’t take very long and he would scoop the cooked ingredients onto your plate and hand it to you. You’d sit down and have the best stir fry you’ve ever eaten. It’s great! Try it when you get the chance. Hope that helped!

In other words, just what Breefield said! :D

G’day Pretty Lilly,

Thank you for your question.

It is stir fried meat and vegetables. Apparently it is neither Mongolian nor barbecue as it hails from Taiwan. link

I have had Mongolian stir fried beef at a Chinese restaurant which is good.

Regards

I think it’s effin good. They get pissed when you smash the frozen meat curls in an effort to overfill your bowl. I do it anyway. I also add pineapple.
