There is one species of cacti that I’m aware of that wiggles and shakes. I don’t remember the name of it but there are scientific videos on youtube and a few other sites that show it. It’s very odd.

If they have sunglasses and a hat, then yes!

@ucme – What did you say that had to be censored?

@SarasWhimsy I think you are talking about the Jumping Cactus, I lived in Southern Arizona for 40 years and never saw one move…

@HungryGuy Wiggle vibrates prick from a cactus spine you can guess the rest. Read this quick.

@HungryGuy I might appeal on grounds of unfair dismissal. There was no expletive in sight . I feel tarnished. Well amused anyway.

@ucme The reason why you were moderated was because you didn’t make a serious “first” comment. The first comment of every question has to be a serious attempt to answer the question. It’s all in the guide lines.

@UCME, Oh you durty boy!! @HungryGuy I would like to sugget not to sit on them, just in case they do.

ucme's avatar

@oratio Alas my knowledge of cacti is pretty limited . What the hell. It matters not that it was removed but it was there at all. I think Socrates said that…. or was it Sammy Davis Jnr.. whatever.

Then there are all the urban legends about spider nests inside potted cacti . . .

HungryGuy's avatar

@Kayak8 – Spider nests?!?! Inside cacti?!?! I hate spiders! Are you serious????

lucillelucillelucille's avatar

Yes,and sometimes not at all.

mrentropy's avatar

@Kayak8 I had a boss who told me that a friend of hers had bought a cactus. It started to sway and move on its own. She ended up calling the police or something and they took it outside and torched it. While it burned, hundreds of baby tarantulas flamed they’re way out of it.

Years later I found out it was an urban legend.

HungryGuy's avatar

@mrentropy – So your boss’s friend lied about the burning tarantulas???

mrentropy's avatar

@HungryGuy Either my boss lied, her friend lied, or her friend’s friend lied… or something. The story she told me was almost exactly the same as the one I read on Snopes.
