Are we still exporting pesticides used in agriculture that have been banned in the US to other countries?

Asked by Adirondackwannabe (36713points) October 22nd, 2010

At one time the US was allowing companies to sell pesticides that were banned here to other countries, mostly to South American users, if I recall correctly. Is this still the practice? What are our thoughts about importing food from these areas?

Yes this still occurs and we should be apalled that it is allowed. And don’t make excuses that it’s because these other countries don’t have the restrictions we do….their citizens are humans on this planet too. It’s amoral and unethical to sell harmful products to other countries in the name of profits.
