Is it possible that the president is Irish?

Asked by josie (30934points) November 7th, 2010

I know that some people tried to accuse the president of being Muslim.
I think that nonsense has finally run it’s course.
But, the other day I went to a local camera store that sells used stuff and I sort of like to hang out there and look at the cameras.
It is in the heart of the city, and there is graffiti everywhere. Everywhere!
Occasionally it is fun to take a few minutes and read the graffiti.
One interesting graffito read as follows-“Make O’Bama be the King!”
Is everybody wrong about the president’s heritage?
Is it possible that he is Irish?

Oh great, just what we need: a re-birther.

PS: I think Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick is Irish, too.

Absolutely, unequivocally, yes. The Corrigan Brothers have no reason to lie.

Some people consider both Bono and Obama to be messiahs, so it makes sense. Plus wouldn’t it be great to see him Bar-acking out with U2?

His last name, Obama, comes from his Kenyan father, Barack Obama, Sr.—And Sr. got his last name from his father, Hussein Onyango Obama.

I have no problem with Obama being Irish, but I just doubt it. His Kenyan ancestry dates back fairly far.

He is Irish on the maternal side. He had a great great great grandparent:

“Falmouth KEARNEY was born about 1830 in Ireland and died 21 March 1878. He immigrated to the U.S. on the ship Marmion on 20 March 1850, along with his sister Margaret Cleary and her husband, William.”
