Are American Apparel hoodies same sizing as AA shirts?

Asked by xTheDreamer (897points) November 19th, 2010

I don’t live in the U.S but I want to order a YouTubers’(CTFxC, if anyone of you guys know them) printed shirts and hoodies that they’re selling.

Their designs are on American Apparel shirts and hoodies.
I’ve once bought a shirt online from a different website but the design was also printed on American Apparel shirts, I bought a size small. This shirt fitted me well, just only a tad long. I’ve never bought an American Apparel hoodie and I was wondering if the American Apparel hoodies are the same sizing/fitting as the shirts.

I don’t want to spend $38 on a hoodie and then find out it doesn’t even fit me or it’s way too large. If the AA size small hoodie is or almost is the same sizing/fitting as the AA size small shirt then I’d know if I should buy a size small or medium.

I shop there regularly, in-store and online, and sometimes their sizing is a little wacky or inconsistent depending on the particular design. But pretty much all my stuff (lots of tee shirts and hoodies) is XS and fits more or less perfectly.

I would say that the hoodies with zippers tend to be a little bigger by design than the pullover hoodies, however, so you might want to take that into account.

I’ve never worn a wholesale item from AA, though, so I don’t know if that set of items is any different than their other stuff when it comes to sizing. Probably not.

I would aver to say that they may very well be different as ive had the same issues just across different styles of tees.
