How to print wireless(read details)?

Asked by yoyoo29 (74points) November 23rd, 2010

I have an iPhone and I want to print wirelessly from it. I have a printer without wireless built-in, but I have a DLink wireless router without a USB port. Is it possible to print wirelessly, given these conditions? I am using Windows 7.

I believe you have to be able to have your printer be on the network…either wirelessly or through an ethernet connection.

Either that or you have to be able to remote-access your desktop or laptop that is connected to the computer.

The iPhone doesn’t have any printer drivers available for it.

There are some apps that allow limited printing, but by “limited” I mean that many can only print photos or work only on certain models of printer, usually select HP printers. For instance, the new Airprint from Apple only works with eleven different HP printers, and I don’t think all of those printers are even on the market yet.

Basically, your best bet is to sync what you want to print to your PC and print it from there. From what I’ve seen, there are very few viable options to print from anything running iOS (iPod Touch, iPad, or iPhone). Such is the price of sending a toy to do a computer’s job :P
