I think my old vet may have lost the records on one of my cats. What do I do now?

Following on this

I moved in with the new boyfriend, and after two days of having us with her all day long, she peed on the bed last night.

She goes to the new vet in the morning… so I called the old vet for her records. They only have records on one of my cats. I KNOW I’ve taken her there. But it’s been nearly 3 years, so I don’t remember what they did to her or even why I had her there. I don’t remember if she’s up on all her shots.

Chances are, they’re going to want to up her shots. But I don’t know what she’s already had. Aside from wanting to burn down the old vet’s office (after rescuing the poor creatures they’re “treating”), is there anything I should be concerned about? Can she be over-vaccinated? Are there even any shots that would still be there after 2–3 years?

No, the vaccinations should be fine. Rabies can last for five years, but you should have the tag.

You mentioned having a new boyfriend. Is it possible that that is what is upsetting your cat?

@marinelife: I can’t see how… she loves him. She cuddles with him, licks him, plays with him, sleeps with him.

Maybe it’s the new surroundings that’s upsetting your cat? Besides three years is a long time for boosters, maybe your new vet will have better luck if they contact your old vet?? :-/

@Scooby: I don’t know about that. It doesn’t explain why she was peeing on the bed before (unless they’re two separate issues she’s pissed off about). Aside from that, she’s been happily flipping back and forth on every inch of the carpet she can, marking it. She’s had a ball exploring things.

Though, I just realized that I bought a new litter box yesterday. They’ve never had any issues adapting to new boxes or even litters, but maybe this one was an issue. One of them definitely peed in the new box… but of course, I can’t tell which. UGH. Bitches.

I guess she’s just making the place feel more like home!?:-/
I had an issue with one of my “Bitches” (Queen) she constantly peed on a friends boots whenever she was over, never her shoes ! Just the boots?? Go figure! :-/

She went to the vet this morning.

I’m actually praying it’s an infection or something medical, because that’s easier to fix and get her better than something behavioral. Sigh.

Either way, I hope it gets sorted sooner rather than later, there’s nothing worse than pissy cat! :-/
Good luck……. ;-)
