Is there a way to tag photos and not person to a "Group"?

Asked by ShaChris23 (318points) February 18th, 2011

I have just created a Group on Facebook. One can add members to the group by simply tagging your Facebook friends. But what if you want to add “photos” to your group?

Specifically, I’m trying to tag a photo of my grandpa who has already passed away (thus he has no Facebook account), so that his photo will show up in our group.

I hope the question was clear. Sorry if it wasn’t and I will try my best to clarify.

A person does not need to have a Facebook account in order to be tagged in a picture, if that’s what you’re asking. I just tagged my dog (Facebook won’t let you tag inanimate objects, but is apparently fine with pets) in a photo yesterday, and he doesn’t have a Facebook account.

You can also post photos to a group. Just go to the group page and click the link to share photos, works the same way it does for your wall, but it goes to the group’s wall. I would suggest posting your grandfather’s picture to the group wall, then tagging it. Note that you can enter any text for a photo tag, you don’t have to select anybody from a list.
