How does it smell in the house taking a wild turkey and sticking it a crockpot?

Asked by Aster (20023points) February 19th, 2011

My daughter knew an old man who shot a wild turkey, removed whatever you’re supposed to and put it directly into the crockpot. She said it stunk up the place terribly and left.
Have you smelled and even eaten a wild turkey and how was it?

Sometimes meat needs to age a bit before it’s cooked. Meats in stores tend to have had at least a bit of aging. Wild meats tend to get stronger tastes and aromas, particularly during certain seasons, so someone who isn’t used to it might have strong reactions.
