Is the Caste System a form of artificial selection?

We were just talking about this in school, and I felt like seeing what you all have to say.

You could also ask if Religion is a form of artificial selection? And the answer to both would be yes, IMHO, in that it is a human made system imposed on other humans. Some similarities that come to mind -

- the brahmin caste telling the other castes what can and can not be done.
– the pope telling catholics what can and can not be done.
etc.

Caste system is a form of socio-economic collusion.

Since 12th century parents in India are covertly brainwashing their kids to coerce other children as per the caste hierarchies.

And publicly “pretend” every one is equal.
