Can I wish my jellybeans a very happy Yom Ha'azmaut - Israels' 63rd Independance Day?

Asked by _zen_ (7857points) May 9th, 2011

It’s especially wonderful ths year what with the (impeding) decline of so many arab dictatorships and worse (Kaddhafi, Assad, Mubarak) and impending ones, a la Achmenidinilinglong.

Plus – Seal Team Six took one for the team – and made our countries celebrate each other’s I.D. together in unison – as Obama said: “We (the USA) were the first to recognize the fledgling state of Israel.”

It wasn’t him, per se, but we appreciate the sentiment.

Go USA! Go Israel. Down with tyranny, chauvenism, communism and dictatorships. Onward democracy, humanism and capitalism/socialism.

I’m feeling patriotic today; to planet earth – and beyond.

And to you too. Too bad it wasn’t Sayeret Matkal that got OBL, but that would have been too much ;-)

I like the idea that the US took him out – Israel has its own terrorists to deal with. Now for Haniya and Nasrallah.

Yes! Happy Independence Day! Does Israel do fireworks and BBQ like America? What is a typical Israeli Independence Day like?
