Will auto type, and auto sentence correction ever evolve into auto paragraph or auto thesis?

Asked by RealEyesRealizeRealLies (30954points) July 27th, 2011

There is so much information from so many different sources available today, that it doesn’t seem out of line to foresee a future enhancement that allows one to type: Classic Architecture and BAM! my entire dissertation appears before my eyes, with multiple options, compiled from many different sources and reworded to avoid plagiarism. It would be perfectly written and without being necessarily biased toward any one particular viewpoint. I could even move the slider to bias my paper weighted more towards comparing it to Modern or Ancient…

I think everything necessary to manifest this technology could actually exist today. Do you think it will ever evolve?

To know the material, all I’d have to do is read my own paper. And it would truly be mine because I’m the one who chooses the slant, or the level of sarcasm, or the level of politicizing, etc…

I certainly think so. I’ve also heard that there is a program that automatically formats your paper to either MLA or APA for writing papers. Is this true? I could really use this when I start classes again.

I certainly hope not, but I suppose it’s a possibility. I don’t think we’re there yet. For now, auto summarize doesn’t even work very well. It is entertaining to see what it does to papers I have written, though.

Well, let’s try how far the technology is today already.
I will write the same sentences again when I am finished with these but I will accept all the recommended words that my smart keyboard suggests to me (something that I now do only about ten percent of the time).
So here goes.

We have Wi – Fi here!
I hope you won’t get angry that the one i am going to recommend that you can write to the UK.
So, the Greeks being non working people and their families.

Wait…so what were those sentences supposed to be?

I started the three sentences (with auto suggestion) with the same letters as the three sentences that i pasted above in italic (W, I and S)

Wow. I thought that’s what you were getting at, but the sentences were so different that I convinced myself otherwise.

@rebbel Did any of the artificial sentences have anything at all to do with recent past things you typed, or could they be connected to any web pages that you’ve visited recently?

As sad as I feel on the subject, I believe it is only a matter of time before something like this comes about. It will be a truly disheartening day for the English language.
