Does anyone know anything about the iPad2?

Asked by AshlynM (10684points) August 18th, 2011

For ex: If I were to get the 32 gb Wi fi only model, I’m assuming I don’t need a data plan or contract?

How does this work? Or if you can provide articles that can answer this, that would be great.

If you get the wifi only, then no, you will not be getting a data plan.
It really depends on how you’ll be using it. I got the wifi + 3G, because I knew the first time I wanted to use it and wasn’t in a wifi zone, I would be kicking myself for not spending another $150.

No, the WiFi iPad does not require a contract. See here – iPad 2

Yes, the 3G iPad is more $$, but it all depends on how often and where you will use it.

Yep, wifi is free. Think of it like a large iPod Touch. I own the 16GB wifi iPad 2 and love it.

Keep in mind that that if you get a 3G one the data plan is month to month. So if you go on a vacation you can pay the 15 to 25 bucks to have it turned on for a month then you can not renew it.
