Example of a great cover letter?

Asked by dreamwolf (3163points) September 14th, 2011

Hey all, I’m looking to work in a place, other than fast food and they mostly require cover letters and resumes. I have a very simple cover letter, that is pretty able to change a couple words around to make it fit any other store, but I’d like to see some examples of your idea of a cover letter.

Here’s an article on the latest and greatest in cover letters.

I can’t post an actual cover letter here, but I can easily tell you what it contains. Take the ad you are answering and put the points the hiring company is looking for in your cover letter. If they say they are looking for someone who is creative, a team player, and adaptable, then include those things in your letter.

Good luck to you.

@marinelife @Hawaii_Jake What about aesthetics, should I double space, 1.5 space, or regular space?

I would single space it like a normal letter. Put your address and date at the top, and then the hiring company’s address along with a salutation. End it with “Thank you for your time and consideration.”

Single space.
