Is there a software that can launch several programs at the same time ?

Asked by Staalesen (2722points) October 29th, 2011

As a student and researcher i often have a bunch of software I use at the same time (the list includes, but not limited to: Word, Powerpoint, Chrome Browser and SPSS)

Is there a way to open multiple programs at the same time, preferebly the same documents/files I worked on with a single shortcut/Icon ? (and I would love if they remembered their windows sizes and position)

I use windows 7

Thank you, but I was hoping for something with a Graphical user interface, that would ease customization, without the need for Commandline like editing. :)

I use AutoHotKey, but I already know from your reaction to @the100thmonkey that you won’t like this, either. Someone else following the question might.

Sorry, @Staalesen, but you’re going to have to learn to use your computer properly to do what you want.

Even a program with a GUI – there are many programs available, like the control software for your mouse or keyboard, or GlovePIE – is going to ask you for the commands it needs to pass to the operating system in order to run the programs you need on the documents you want.

Ideally, you would find spending a couple of weeks in a Linux environment to lose your fear of writing explicit commands both instructive and, honestly, liberating. If that’s not possible or desirable, you just have to suck it up and learn to write commands for Windows.

Hmm…Guess take a nostalgia dive and just create a bachfile then :) Thanks people!
