Infatuation is when you think you love the person before you know the least thing about them. It is a fantasy that you are in love with; not the actual person. Infatuation turns to love when it becomes based on who the person actually is, not who you imagine them to be.

Pure lust is when you are hot to jump a person’s bones without caring who they are. Lust can include knowing a person well, but being so horny for them you can barely think.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. It should be very easy for one to see clearly the differences between love and lust but as toadstools are to mushrooms you have to have a keen eye to know the difference.

Love > Is like you can’t wait to move your furniture in the house and once there you don’t ever want to leave.
Lust > You avoid ever moving your furniture in and seek to move as soon as you get bored.

Love > Each day you want to do for your spouse to make their day better than yesterday without caring about any quit pro quo.
Lust > Your affection comes from the hope of getting a reward.

Love > Like wanting the deed to the house.
Lust > Like just wanting to lease a condo.

Love > Says “what can I do for you?”
Lust > Says “Can I get this or that from you?”

Love > Like is like long burning sulfur.
Lust > Like a fast burning fuse.

Love > Like a house built on bedrock that can withstand winds and storms.
Lust > A hut built on sand that is swept out to see the 1st biggest wave.

Love > Spends each day digging its way to marriage.
Lust > Trying to make sure one gets from the cave while one can.

Love > Until death do we part.
Lust > I would not be caught dead cleaved to just one person.

Love > Thinks of what is good for your partner.
Lust > What is best for yourself.

Love > Is selfless
Lust > Selfish

If people want to know TRUE love they have to look no further than the Late Dana Reeves. When her husband (the late Christopher Reeves) was paralyzed early in their marriage she could have chose to bail, look after herself and her own happiness. She stuck by his side no matter how rough or what she had to give up, and she never stopped loving him as if he wasn’t Superman. THAT is the difference between love and lust.

Love cares more the happiness of the beloved.

Infatuation is a chemical haze that surrounds early meetings. It is much more about the self and the way you feel.

Lust is sexual desire.

Infatuation is like intrigue and obsession. It usually is consuming.
Lust is purely sexual desire.
Love is complicated.

When Infatuated, you feel high thinking of that person. You are in a dreamland and tend to do stupid things to impress them in some way or the other. This is temporary.

Lust or obsession is if you keep thinking of them, always, and stay distracted all the time. You think about that person differently if you don’t get what you want or are turned down.

Love is a relationship of caring and giving. Lust is a display of power. Love shows no ego, while lust has display of ego.
You can disagree, argue, express your differences confidently to a person you love and still stay in love. When you say, “I love you”, you truly mean it.
You feel refreshed and comfortable when you are with them, but not feel weak and threatened when you are away from them.

Does the person accept you for who you are and not want to change you.?
Take notice of how they react to friends and family members. Do they think your friends and family are pests and wish to have you all by (him/her)self or do they genuinely enjoy meeting everyone?
Do they get disturbed if you have an differing opinion or is it welcomed?
Do you feel like a trophy?

Love has the makings of eternity.

Lust means you want a nut…now.
