Can you tell me more about Aries men and what it's like to date them ?

Asked by partyrock (3870points) January 6th, 2012

I know Fluther doesn’t really get a lot of question about Horoscopes or Astrology but I’m just curious to get everyone’s opinions on this…. if you are an Aries male, or a female who has dated/ been with an Aries man….

There’s already some characteristics my new beau has mentioned to me that are dead on Aries…. for example when he told me he likes the “Thrill of the Chase”.. which is typical for an Aries man..Another thing is that he likes to be the one in charge.. He like to be the boss, the king, the one in control, etc. What are ways I can keep my Aries guy? Since they do like the chase, and me and my beau have already done the deed…

I apologize, but astrology is not real. If it was, it would probably be utilized more in society. You didn’t get hired? This job is really only best for Cancers, sorry. Lol.

@Blackberry – lol !! Funny !! I agree with you that on some levels it is not real. However, being the Scorpio female that I am, every single thing it says about Scorpio is correct with me…. every thing….. and with my Aries beau, he has most if not all characteristics of being an Aries male….

Not to say that horoscopes is a science, or accurate, but for me, I do notice that I am everything a Scorpio woman is.

Oh, dear, @partyrock , you will get many more posts about the invalidity of your question than not, as so many have the idea that they are required to not address the question as written, but to tell you that you are foolish for asking it. If you want answers to the actual Q, you can put it in General, where off-topic stuff will be removed.

Well, don’t I feel dumb for posting this… I knew that I kind of shouldn’t have, as I would get responses like Blackberry and yours. I’ll ask a mod to take it down later. I’ll keep my horoscope questions to myself lol.

@partyrock Jill is correct, I was typing a long answer to debunk astrology. Instead, I’ll back off. :)

@Blackberry – It’s ok you don’t have to back off ! I won’t cry and get hurt about it lol.

Keep the surprise about you. Don’t let him be too comfortable that he has you. Keep the spiciness in your sex life.

@partyrock : Don’t feel dumb for posting it. You can’t control the answers you get. Personally, I think it’s a charming question, being an Aries woman. I wouldn’t want to date me, but in my life many have found me to be eminently dateable, so I have no idea how you would play this.

Horoscopes are just for fun @partyrock and as long as you keep that very clear in your mind, enjoy.

So, (as an Aries female) I can say with absolute accuracy that he is a dynamic, fascinating, go-getting man who will be a truly fabulous lover. Might have a bit of a fiery temper too :D

Descriptions of people of different star signs are just ambiguous enough that they can apply to anyone. “Stubborn – Hey, that’s me! Wilful – that’s me too! Sometimes outgoing, but likes his alone time? WOW! They’ve got me pegged!”

Get to know the man, not his sign.

If astrology was real, don’t you think we’d notice that people born in the same month all tend to be very similar? Have you noticed that? I haven’t.

As much interest as I have in the paranormal astrology is just not my thing and I don’t know whether to take it serious or not. Just for the fun of it I decided to look up how I’m “supposed to be” (as an Aries male myself) on here.

Some things were correct such as how I get bored easily, I tend to be very loyal, I never have cheated and I would be direct with my partner if something wasn’t right. However a few other things were off such as the need to be the boss, as much as I dislike taking orders too frequently and being that I like to do my own thing I definitely do not get off by being authoritarian. I also hate the chase and in fact it turns me off bigtime. I have never chased a woman and I never will. I prefer direct women that make it easy for me. I find life to be challenging enough so I don’t need an ego boost by ‘conquering my prey during the hunt’. I would say my ‘reading’ was ½ correct and ½ wrong about my personality but maybe I’m a rare exception for an Aries guy, I don’t know.

Fluther is antiparanormal so the general section might have been better for this type of question. Personally I wouldn’t leave horoscope readings give you a false impression of others, especially guys and how you should behave around them.

We Aries men don’t give any credence to astrology, or the groupings of people born at the same time of the year. That’s really more of a Saggitarius thing.

@partyrock Of course you see many, many similarities to you and other Scorpios. That is because ALL horoscopes (which are written by regular folks, even I could write them) use generalities that apply to everyone. And because you read yours (Scorpio) you probably didn’t bother to read the other, which also miraculously applied to you too. Or if you do, you will find some way to rationalize why they don’t apply to you.

We did a couple of informal “tests” on Fluther about 8 months ago, in which random horoscopes were written down and everybody had to try to pick their own. Because the “signs” weren’t given, it became very clear, very quickly that ALL of the forecasts could apply to all of us. We accept all of the terms that apply to us and either ignore or conveneniently disregard all of those that don’t fit.

Bottom line: any Aries man will have some characteristics of every other man in the whole wide world. The ones that don’t fit, you will either discard, or find a way to make them seem like they fit, or simply not think about them at all, becuase you know that everything esle fits.

Think about it. If every person born on the exact same day, and exact year were to act exactly the same and have the same characteristics, we would think that some sort of weird cloning has happened. Since we don’t think that and people born on the same day don’t act any more alike than anyone else, we can infer that Zodiac signs are not accurate, but they sure are fun, huh?

@AnonymousGirl – Either you’re writing a really long response, or you left your keyboard on/on something while writing… lol

^^ Hey, sorry about that. I hadn’t gotten around to closing this tab and left it up while I was sleeping (I’m sure). The answer box had writing in it that I deserted. Good call.

I think it’s best for you not to worry about the Aries thing so much. I am an Aries and we get along just fine, even if we’re just friends. One of my own best friends is a Scorpio and she laughs about it and has told me that we’re not supposed to get along because of our signs, but she doesn’t believe in them even more because of our friendship. I have yet another close friend who is a Scorpio and we have some pretty awesome conversations.

I realize you might view this as different because they are friendships and not sexual relationships, but still. It’s something to think about.

@AnonymousGirl – I give that a great answer :) lol
