Henry Reyna is a made-up character for the play Zoot Suit.
The first answer is INCORRECT!! The play and the character Henry Reyna is based on true events and real people. Herny Leyvas and his friends were falsely accused in the Sleepy Lagoon Murder Mystery in the 1940’s. Henry lived in East Los Angeles and operated a restuarant on Whittier Blvd named “Hank“s”. He died of a heart attack on July 6, 1971 at the age of 48 while returning home from a bar in East LA.
