Do you listen to music at night?

Asked by crunchaweezy (1733points) June 8th, 2008 from iPhone

To entertain you and put you to bed, I listen to some dance, r&b, and trance music. It helps me, is it a bad thing?

I don’t think so. I am used to sleep with music. Since 8 years I go to bed with an album playing on my HiFI system or on my comptuer, and it’s helping me to sleep.

The “problem” now is that its more difficult now to sleep without music, but I always have my iPod in case of emergency.

I sometimes must sleep without music. And sometimes I have to sleep with it, its truly strange.

I have to fall asleep to the TV. Usually the History Channel is on. I end up having dreams about Hitler or the Panama Canal. That shit will seep into your brain even if you are asleep.

I look for cool vidos on youtube before I fall asleep with my iPhone… I have some very odd dreams.

I do sometimes when I’m having trouble getting to sleep. Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance does wonders :)

Instrumental music does the trick for me, but sometimes a good TV program like johnpowell says will get you dreaming about the program and gets mixed with other things within your environment, it creates a whole mess most of the time.

I sleep with my iPod on every night. Usually someone Stan Getz, Norah Jones, Janis Ian or the like. I started this a few years ago and I sleep like a rock now (after years of sleepless nights). I’ll wake up in the exact same position I fell asleep in.

when im still fluthering it’s just the regular mix, when i need to get to sleep up turn on a “macbreak tech” podcast :)

The only time I listen to my iPod to go to sleep is when I really need to drown out the incredibly loud snoring next to me.

I watch DVDs until I fall asleep. I have a portable DVD player and i put the headphones on so I don’t disturb SO, and I watch a TV show on DVD.
