What is the pastime you wish you had the time to do more of?

Asked by TheProfoundPorcupine (2549points) January 6th, 2013

Quite often we are too busy with various other things that means we miss out on doing certain hobbies or pastimes that we would otherwise enjoy.

Every year I say to myself that I will do more hill walking and I have a list of places I would like to explore and to get away from the noise that surrounds us, but I never end up doing it.

So what pastimes do you miss out on and wish you could do more of?

Hiking. I would love to spend a good 2–3 hours per hike, at least a few days a week for a good hike in the woods.

Past times are times past. Hobbies are pastimes.

Sorry I added in a space in the wrong place. I am now suitably ashamed and I will now stand in the naughty corner until I know better.

Shame is not necessary. Mild contrition is more-than-adequate.

I love being creative, so I could be creative all day. That translates to 3D Developing, painting, drawing and anything that makes my heart happy. I am just creative.

I miss random shopping, just for the fun of it. Paying for two children really has sucked the life out of my bank account, lol.

Painting and drawing. I need copious amounts of undisturbed time for that and I rarely get any undisturbed time right now.

My sister is a professional artistand is preparing for two shows (oils and tempera) for next year. She can wear a headphone and talk on the phone while painting the undercoating or background.

Reading all these books I’ve stacked up but rarely read because I am truly , hopelessly addicted to fluther and Facebook. It’s really bad; I don’t know how to stop this. I enjoy chatting with my online friends so much that it’s out of hand.

Camping, photography, cooking and drawing.

I’d like to travel but for that time and money are required.

I am not lacking time, but rather motivation. I spend a great deal of time on the computer which I could use walking or doing crafts.

Bike touring, traveling, visiting museums, jamming with the band, and that’s without hardly thinking. I’m sure the list would be endless if I wanted to think about it. Hiking. Photography. Glass blowing. Pottery. Stop me before I start thinking.

I have time for my many hobbies, but only in little bursts. I go to college and I’m busy busy busy no time for anything, and then I come home and there are just hours and hours to fill. So I get time for all my hobbies eventually, when breaks happen, but during term I start to miss them.

The aforementioned hobbies: drawing, needlefelting, making jewelry, writing (of the fiction and code variety), reading, playing games, and more…

^^^Don’t forget birding, the hobby that takes almost no time and can be done while you are on the way to doing other things.

Didn’t mention it because it is the one that I do have time for at school, for the reasons you mentioned!

I wish I had time to draw a mural.
